Daryl's CD's
Music
has been this international entertainer's passion
and profession since he was a child. This
multi-talented guitarist, composer and producer, is
a self-taught musician, who started playing guitar
at age 11 in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

At
age 22, the talented youth auditioned for jazz violinist
Jean-Luc Ponty and was IN! The talented youth packed his
bags for his first world tour and also recorded four
fusion albums with Ponty. By 1987, he was alternating lead
guitar and bass with Mike Rutherford as part of the
legendary band Genesis. That performing association has
endured for over two decades.
After former Genesis singer/drummer Phil Collins organized
his own group in the early 80s, Daryl became a
"permanent touring-recording member," linking
his guitar stylings to the sophisticated pop renditions of
that band, too. He accompanied both Phil Collins and
Genesis on six celebrated world tours each. Along the way,
Daryl has distinguished himself as a music writer and
co-composer, joining Phil Collins in creating such
memorable hits as "Something Happened on the Way to
Heaven," "I Don't Wanna Know," and more. In
addition, Daryl has recorded on six of Collins' solo
albums.
This multi-skilled musician formed an independent
specialty label, Urban Island Music, and recorded a solo
CD entitled "Live and Learn." In
April, 2001, Daryl won 4 WAMIs (Wisconsin Area Music
Awards), including CD of the Year for "Another Side
Of Genesis," Artist of the Year, Contemporary Jazz
Artist and Best Guitarist. Jazz on the Green is
excited to welcome such a legendary performer to its stage
and looks forward to hearing music both from his solo
career and familiar Genesis tunes which he has re-styled
into a smooth jazz format. Watch for Daryl's upcoming
all-original-music CD, "Waiting in the Wings."
