phenomenon, producer, composer and arranger, Rick
Braun escalates his already ascendant career with the
dimensional and delightful new release, "Kisses
In the Rain," and will headline Jazz on the
Green 2001, on the heels of a busy summer of touring
and a year which included major recognition at the
Smooth Jazz Awards, including Brass Player, Song of
the Year, and
Collaboration of the Year. |

His
work with Boney James on "Shake It Up," garnered Billboard's Number 1 spot on the contemporary
jazz album charts for 11 weeks in 2000, and the first single, "Grazin' In
the Grass" occupied the Number 1 spot on R&R's NAC charts for 9 weeks, also
crossing over to the R&B charts.
Rick's favorite composition on "Kisses in the
Rain" is the passionate and
melodic "Middle of the Night," which is featured
in the Keanu Reeves movie,
"Sweet November."
With Rick Braun's track record as an award-winning
performer and producer, he
doesn't have to say much, the facts and figures speak for
themselves. Born in
Allentown, Pennsylvania, Braun began playing music in
elementary school,
ultimately winding up at the prestigious Eastman School of
Music in
Rochester, NY. There he hooked up with like-minded
musicians to form a
jazz-fusion combo dubbed Auracle, releasing two albums.
His compsition "Here
With Me" was a Top 20 hit for REO Speedwagon in 1988
and he was soon called
upon to tour with Rod Stewart, Sade, Tina Turner, Glenn
Frey, Natalie Cole
and Tom Petty, among others.
Braun's numerous collaborations with artists Richard
Elliot, Brian Bromberg, Chris Standring, Jeff Golub, Peter White and 3rd Force
have led to multiple
Number 1 records. As a producer, he has delivered Number 1
hits for
keyboardist David Benoit, guitarist Marc Antoine, Avenue
Blue, and
saxaphonist Bryan Savage.
Now, with his most wonderfully performed, brilliantly
conceived, richly
produced and arranged album to date, "Kisses In The
Rain," Rick Brain is
simply filled with gratitude. "My path has already
taken me to places that I
couldn't even have imagined that I'd be," says Braun.
"I've gone
everywhere...from playing in bars with R&B bands to
Wembley Stadium in
London. I've done so many things, and for me to be having
the career that I'm
having right now....I just feel like I'm one of the most
blessed people in
the world." Well, echoing the sentiment, Jazz on the
Green feels that it is
also richly blessed by the fact that one of the hottest
entertainers in
smooth jazz will be on our stage October 20!
